Keller Williams Red Day: Fighting Community Blues.

RedDay-WebBannerThose who know Keller Williams Realty know it’s not like most real estate companies.  With its commitment to the customer and community, it has created a culture where amazing things happen every day. On one day in particular every year, KW highlights its steadfast pledge to the community throughout North America.

RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving our local communities.  Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of community projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve.

Locally, in Central Iowa on May 9, 2013, Keller Williams Greater Des Moines has dedicated their RED day to a couple of families and their homes. One home, now uninhabitable and down to the studs, will be rebuilt for a cancer patient who has been forced into temporary housing with his family. The second home chosen is in desperate need of repairs including many for safety related issues for a family battling a job loss and health issues.

This one-day expression of what happens 24/7 in the Keller Williams culture is best summed up by local KW Cares Committee Chairperson and Realtor, Marcia Munger, “There is nothing better than giving back to communities where we live and work. We are in the “home” business and we want these families to have a safe place they can call home.”

If you would like to help with a monetary donation to help purchase drywall, fixtures, paint and other supplies, checks can be made out to “Rebuilding Together”  or “KW Carlisle Fund” and dropped off or mailed to the Keller Williams Clive office at 10200 Hickman Ct., Suite 100, Clive, Iowa 50325.
